I love to be in front of a crowd, whether I'm giving readings or conducting storytelling workshops in elementary schools, libraries or community centres, presenting workshops to high schools students, offering Continuing Education classes, or helping prison inmates give voice to their stories.

I present author readings to schools and libraries, talking about my books and my passion for storytelling as a way to share ideas, learn about the world and to  understand ourselves and each other.

I teach writing workshops to children and adults, in schools, libraries and conferences, and share insights about the publishing world.

The children from Crescent Beach Annex School sat truly mesmerized, as Lois Peterson wove a creation story web around them.  This was a tough crowd: grades 1, 2 and 3. The age range made it challenging: widely different interests, attention spans and abilities.
Lois spoke on the power of story, told a story, touched upon all of the books she has written, spoke simply and clearly on the writing process and then led the children as they magically created their own story.
It was one of the best author visits I have ever attended.
